Senior Citizens Center

The Senior Citizens of Morristown, TN was founded to provide a place for active Seniors to meet new people, learn new skills, stay active and fellowship. The mission of the center has not changed over the years…..to provide educational activities and maintain a comfortable place to socialize, make new friends and create memories.

Criteria for participation in the Senior Center is to be age 50. Some of the special programs and and services offered by the Senior Center and the Hamblen County Office on Aging are:

Mammograms,  AARP 55 Alive Driving Classes,  Free notary services,  Free Smoke Detectors, Home Delivered Meals, Free AARP Tax Returns, Senior Directory, Elderwatch, File of Life, Annual Holiday Bazaar each November,
and Bi-Annual Spring & Fall Health Fairs.

The center offers recreational opportunities such as, daily programs such as billiards, table games, and computer lab. Other activities include day and multiple day trips, card clubs, crafts, and special activities such as Prom and monthly birthday dinners. The center offers a Daily Senior Nutrition Meal - served @ 11:30 daily and  Daily transportation 9am-2pm - Transport to doctor, grocery store, drug store, bank, pay rent & other necessity trips. Cost $5 round trip and $1 per extra stop.

The Senior Center staff, and the individual efforts of all the members have created a wonderful place for the Senior Citizens of Morristown to call “A home away from home”. Continued growth has created an exciting environment with wonderful activities and tremendous participation.
